Little Pixie

Hello there,
Boy I really can't believe it is over 6 weeks since I last posted a card.  This time malarki is just whizzing by so fast.  I have been so busy trying to take a step forward, but always getting pushed back with one thing and another.  I made myself sit down and make a card even though my mojo has also taken its winter vacation!  So here is a plain and simple one .. slowly does it to get back in the swing of things.
Challenges:-

Sorry about the poor photo, my camera lense "popped" off and I have had to send it to be repaired - typical, not used it for a while and then this happens - just waiting for the  next two things to break down (they say it comes in threes).

On a positive - I have managed to have a quick look at all your beautiful cards - made 6 Christmas cakes, made 42 gift boxes for my neice's business, went to the NEC for the weekend! (yay - and bought a few goodies) and got a few Christmas Presents, made some Christmas Presents, and helped my SIL prepare for a craft weekend she is holding, as well as working extra, going to meetings and presentations - gosh looking back no wonder I have had little time for my crafting.

Hopefully I will be back soon.
Asta La Vista!

Dudette

Hi there,
Just a very quick post today - another one of Krista's beautiful creations - I have used scraps from my desk together with a new kinda paperclip I found.
I really must make a point of having a "set me time" to craft and blog - as been on the run again at weekend transporting kiddos around.

Santas little helper

Hi there,

Finally things are getting back to "normal" and I can have a bit of me time.  I am making a start on my Christmas cards - finally - I know "it" will be here before we know it, so my plan is "be prepared" - hopefully I can get everything made in good time.

I downloaded this little image from the Saturated Canary website - so much choice  I just love how she has captured their eyes.

Challenges:-
Crafts and Me - Roses.
Creative Inspirations - Christmas in September.
I love Promarkers - Occupation  (Toy maker - can't disappoint my daughter now can I!)
Allsorts Challenge - Inspired by a song (Santa Claus is coming to town - Anything Christmassy gets me humming that song)

Thanks for stopping by.

Simplicity

Hello there, long time no see!
I've finally managed to blog a card - I really can't believe where the time has gone and I have soooo missed my little crafty time (althought I have been looking at your blogs though), I am quite out of practice so thought I would start quite simple.

Challenges
Bearly Mine Challenge - Anything goes.
Passion for Promarkers - Green and Yellow.  (Mine is mint green and off yellow)
Whimsey - Anything goes.

Well the kids are all now settling in to school well, all looking rather dapper in their new uniforms - I have been having trouble getting a standard size but in longer length blazer for one of my sons.  I had ordered one, but unfortunately 2 days before they started school, they rang to say that they couldn't get one! - bless he has to go into school with sleeves nearly half way up his arm!

I am a little excited at the moment - I have finally got a new phone - a touch phone (my old one was a little worse for wear and I was spending more on PAYG top ups rather than what I am now on contract and getting a lot more (plus a new phone to boot).  I did take this picture with it, hence not the best at the moment (need to get the settings right).  I usually get things second hand from my hubby / friends etc so to get something new is quite special - love the apps - I feel quite a newby as I keep having to ask my son, what does this do, how do I do this - oh the joys.

Anyhow, that is it for now, hopefully will be back soon.
Take care,

Time just slipping away.

Where does time go to?  I really wish I had a watch that stopped time so that I could catch up with things.  I seemed to have been so busy, but have not got anything much achieved.... blogging time has been put n the back burner, which I have missed.... so gathering muster and telling the kids to fend for themselves for just 30 minutes I am here....
I have also been trying not to buy new crafting items as I really do need to take stock of what I do have and utilise it/them more.
I have used papers from my scrap box an an older LOTV stamp.  The flowers are all old ones which have been in my bit box for an age.  Even my beloved promarkers are starting to run out, mind you I have had the majority for a number of years.

Challenges:-
Lili's Little Fairies - Oh so Girly - what better than being pampered.
BearlyMinded Challenges - Anything with wings.
Whimsy Stamp Challenge - lots of layers.

Well hope you have all been enjoying your summer holidays or whatever you have been doing of late.
Just got to finish off getting the rest of my kids school uniforms, all three of them need totally kitting out again as they have had another growing spurt! I am 5' 11" and yet my 14 and 15 year old boys tower over me!

Thanks for stopping by,

Pretty in Purple.

Hi there,
It's the Summer holidays for the kids and i've been busier than ever - I've had to cover at work which was busy in itself but on top of that, I got that horrible cold that is making its' rounds.  There is only two of us in the office so I had to put on a brave face and just get on with it.  My eldest son has started a summer job which is a brilliant start to "the real world" and the reality of working -  My youngest son is just hanging out with friends and my daughter is shipped out to Nan's - for part time play days.  Just need to clone myself several times and bingo problem solved.

I've had this card made a few days now and have only just got around to showing it.

I have really taken with Saturated canary designs.  I've teamed this up with a sizzix sizzlet word - I think a phase of purple is appearing with some of the cards I've made recently.
I've tried getting the blue hue around the image using polychromos and sandsor - but not getting the hang of it too well - urrmmmmhhh! - I use my chalks usually - note to self will have to play more.

Challenges:-
Papertake Weekly - make your own (flower)
Crafts and Me - Anything goes.
Simon Says - Anything goes.
Whimsey Stamp Challenge - Summer fun.
Cute Card Thursday - So distressing.

Hope you are enjoying the hols and the Olympics - (to be honest, I was waiting for something to go wrong at the Opening Ceremony, but it was fab - loved the concept of it).

Thanks for stopping by -

Finally

Hi there,
We finally got the hall way finished.  The paint has just and so dried! honestly I have never known paint like it.  The carpet is laid and the pictures and ornaments are in place - it is officially my favourite room in the house at the moment.  So now I can relax.

I have had a play with a friend's craft robo and made the card below.  I have welded the letters on the edge of the card and backed it with an insert to show the word off.  I've kept it quite simple.
I've used one of the freebie Saturated Canary images "booby love".  Coloured in with my promarkers
Challenge - only one I can find is Creative Inspirations Bingo - Pink Flowers and Polkadots.

Just as I type this, some bloody arsonist has set fire to something outside our local child and toddler building - achrid smoke bellowing around our house - the other week, they set fire to our Secondary School's fitness suite - do you think that there is any connection as they are both within 1000 meters of each other?  why? what kind of kick do they get from it?

Got to go as getting a headache from the smell of smoke - see you soon.

A cutie patootie.

Hey there,
Woohoo I've finally got some crafting time, rather than painting and cleaning time!
Decorating the hall has been quite a nightmare!.... having to tell the kids to "watch the walls" - "don't touch this", "mind the floor" boy am I stressed out -  The easy fit laminet oak floor wasn't at all easy - hubby has laid loads of floors and ours had to be the worst he has ever done!still got the carpet to lay and the finishing touches, but after 7 days, the "Dulex" gloss is still not totally dry! why pay extra for good quality eh? it is still as fustraiting as the c@*p stuff!.
Anyway I digreess.  My card was one of those stamps that caught my eye in my local craft shop.  I had been so good and not been in for ages and when I had to pass on a message, I had to have a mosy around didn't I,  I spotted this stamp from Wild Rose - simply gorgeous.  I have been quite taken with elephants quite recently! wonder why?  After colouring it in, it all just fell together.
Coloured using my promarkers, chalks for the blue hue.

Challenges:-

Hope you have all had a really relaxing weekend with plendy of crafting time.

New Job.

Hi again, Here is another one I really enjoyed making.  I haven't inked up a Magnolia image for a while nor used flowers.  I've tried to combine someone leaving and going to a new job ... what do you think?
The only thing with adding depth to a card is now the postage - and most I know a friend near me make flatter cards because of it.  I do feel that they do look prettier with the extra embelishements on though.

Flowers from WO, the image has been paper pieced, lace and other embellies from stash.

Challenges:-
Bunny Zoe - Girls Girls Girls.
Cute Card Thursday - punch drunk
Crafts and Me - pearls and roses.
I love Promarkers - tutti fruity.
Simon Says - photo inspiration
Allsorts Challenge - paper piecing and piercing.
Magnolia Downunder - bingo (sentiment on banner, Tilda and lace)
Totally Tilda- Tilda with Bunting / Pennant.

(gosh, must be a record!~)

Walking the plank

Hi there,
What a weekend I had, I think the kids had ALL been on trill bird food or something, they never were quite for one moment, question after question, request after request and I had a disaster - I knocked over a cup of tea all over a batch of cards I had made - not at all happy!  I have put it down to having one of those days weekends!  Anyway glad to get back to work for a bit of piece and quiet!

Here is a card that managed to miss all the commotion...
One of my latest stamps from LOTV - I thought I'd be very British in my colours since I was on holiday when all the Jubilee Celebrations were on - (told you I am always behind on everything!)

Challenges:-

Creative Inspiration - Trooping the Colour (red, white and blue).
Papertake Weekly - 3 - 2 - 1 (3 papers, 2 stamped images, 1 star)
Passion for Promarkers - Lots of layers

Thanks for stopping by,

Two for one!

Hi there,
Oh my goodness my mojo seemed to have taken a longer holiday than I had.  I sat at my desk today and just couldn't create anything - I was shocked that I wasn't up to it, my little haven, my little me time and I couldn't do a thing.  I decided to take M out for a bike ride (we both topped up our tan with the beautiful sunshine) and when we came back managed to get these two cards done - mainly because I needed to send them out tomorrow!

I have really fallen in love with these sassy images - Krista Smith is so talented.  M thinks that they look so much like her moxi dolls, so I am a cool mom at the moment.

This image was a freeby which I am so grateful for - need to start saving up again after the hols.

Challenges:-
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes.
I love Promarkers - something for a girl.
Saturated Canary - Anything goes.

Card below.
Lili's Little Fairies - one for the boys.
Creative Inpiration - Card for a male.

This next card is for my dad for fathers day.  As he lives abroad, I have to get in the post asap.  It also helped having few embellishments especially with the postage as it is.  I am starting to like animal stamps just that little bit more - a change is as good as a rest.  Just finished looking through all the blogs I have missed whilst away - so many talented ladies out there.   Well that's it for me as got to get sorted and back to work tomorrow for a full week - take care and see you soon.

Just a note.

Hey there -

I've been such a bad blogger this month, too much work, birthdays, appointments, parent's evenings and careers evening, GSCE exams for my eldest, so this month has been taken over by prior engagements.

On a happier note, I'm off on my jollies for a week on Tuesday - so hopefully will be back in full swing after that.  You all have wonderful blogs, that I know I will miss them whilst away, but look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations later.

I hope you all have been enjoying this wonderful weather - but keep safe, use sunscreen.

CU soon,
x

Magnolia Fairy.

Hello there,

I really hope you enjoyed your Bank Holiday - yesterday ours was spent being a little nostalgic as our there was a vintage bus gathering on the promenade - it brought back memories of how the buses used to be with a conductor and when you hopped on the back (even if it was moving!)  Hubby took Emma for a jaunty on one which she absolutely loved - It really seems unreal that she is 5 and has never been on a bus!
Today we had an outing to Wray as there was a scarecrow festival on.  The theme was the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee. So many fabulous creations made by young and old.  Quite a few tongue in cheek quips added to some.  Did you know the hulk and 007 were in their 50th year, Titanic was 100 years and Pendle witches 400 years.

Anyway onto my card which I made today....
I had a play with my new Marianne Design die - I love the way you could play around so much with this die.   I also haven't used many flowers for ages so brought them out.  I also used some mirri board which I also haven't used for such a long time, but thought it give a really lovely rainbow colouring peeking through the fret work.  I used my promarkers and distressed inks.  Flowers from WOC.

Challenges:-
Marianne's Design Divas - Pearls and swirls  (pearls on the butterfly)
Passion for Promarkers - Bright and Light.
Crafts & Me - Favourite Colour combo - (mine is pink and white)
I love Promarkers - Fairies.
Simon Says - Birthday.
Just Magnolia -Anything goes with opt of pearls and swirls.

Ok back to work tomorrow so hopefully see you soon.

For Dad

Good Morning,

What a lovely day today - bright sun shine - I've even managed to get my bedding on the line which is blowing beautifully ( funny how it is only us females that say anything like that ?).
I have a day or two off from work for appointments but managed to make this little cutie card.

I've always loved seeing animal card that other bloggers have done, but never really taken to them myself until now -  so cute.  Hopefully the shading of the fur looks ok.  Don't you just love those brads too - I totally forgot I had them but think they are apt for the tool box theme together with my new embossing folder.

Challenges:-
Lils Little Fairies - Sketch.
Whimsey Challenge - Distressing.
Cute Card Thursday - Animal as the main focus

Hope you all enjoy your day in whatever you are doing.

Spring has sprung.

Hello there,
What is the weather doing? such a mixed bag of affairs - hopefully you are all coping with whatever is being thrown your way.
I've taken the week off from work, and have been in my skirts and woolies to! I managed to have a play after a few weeks off blogging due to work commitments! ...
I cut down a 6"x6" card with my deckle edger, cut out three memory box flowers and laid them down instead of using backing papers. I used fruity colours and complimented it with the fruity coloured ribbon. The image is LOTV. Her wings have been stickled, but doesn't show very well in the picture. The clouds have been chalked.

Stamp and Create - Spring
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Passion for Promarkers - Whatever the weather.
Crafts and Me - Bows and Butterflies.
I love Promarkers - Springtime.

Stick 'em up.

Hiya,
Hasn't it just been the best weekend ever, the sun shining, no breeze, and lighter nights - I'm feeling happier already.
I've been working so much these last two weeks, it's left little time for any pleasures (of course I mean crafting!), however, I did take a jaunty with my SIL and crafting buddy to GPE at Harrogate the other weekend. It is my second time going, but it is such a friendly place to go and everything you could wish for and more - just my purse just wouldn't stretch, but I did buy a few little bits and pieces. Including this stamp. I really love these little characters, I manage to but 5!
My daughter Emma kept on asking where I was going, now I don't mean to be mean, but taking a 5 year old to the event with such a keen interest in crafting herself, I don't think we would have got far round, so we kept quiet, but I did bring her one or two things back.
Challenges:-
I hope you all have enjoyed the weekend.

Coffee Catchup.

Hello there m'dears,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, the weather hasn't been half bad and I've had a fab weekend. I spent most of the time running up and down the street teaching my 5 year old to ride a bike (little did I know she had already been riding at school). So with hair looking like a scarecrow, my face as red as a beetroot, bits wobbling here and there (probably the neighbours having a good old laugh) and she can already do it!!!

So with a quite session this afternoon, relaxing, M & I crafted. I got quite a few images coloured but this was the only card I made...

The image is a LOTV one, it so reminds me of my mum and me having a weekly catchup with a brew. I have also used a memorybox die, coloured with promarkers, and all else from my stash.

Challenges:-
Papertake weekly - Anything goes.
PFP - For Mum / female relative.
I love Promarkers - Ribbons and Bows.
Whimsey - No sentiment
Lilis Little Fairies Challenge - Ribbon & Lace.

Thanks for stoppying by and hope to see you again.

A little flower

Hello m'dears,
Another little playtime for me. I've got one of the older images out for a change - I'm quite into the purples tones at the moment and this is what I made.
Challenges:-
I can't believe how many craft items I would love to own at the moment, I think I'm going to have to start doing full time work! lol. Blog hopping and seeing everyones wonderful creations and thinking ooooh I would like one of those and ooooh isn't that pretty, I could do this or that with it.
Anyway hope you all had a wonderful weekend,
Big hugs,

Comma comma comma comma comma chameleon

Hi There,
Sorry - you'll now have that tune stuck in your head .... lol
Well it's nearly another weekend over - I would love to have a three day weekend - wouldn't you as they always seem to go so fast.
My daughter who is a big 5 years old, has now got a best buddy from Rainbows who lives down the street, she is a year older, but just watching them together today, really made me smile, they were playing mummys, both put their dolly up their jumper whilst getting on with other play itinery! They babies just popped out about 10 minutes later, so they could dress up at princesses. The world of make believe - don't you just love it.
Whilst they played, so did I and came off with this....
Another one of my older stamps coming into the light again lol.
It fits the following challenges:-
Crafts & Me - shades of spring.
Simon Says Challenge - 3 different papers.
Sundays with Chrissy - Happy Birthday.
Allsorts Challenge - Anything goes.
Thats it for now, gonna go blog hopping and get my wish list sorted - going to Harrogate Craft Fair soon (get me, I still have some of my Christmas money left to spend whoooooo )
Thanks for popping by.

Out with the old ....

Hi again,
Just thought I'd show you my card. You know as you mozy through your drawers and think, not used that in ages, do I use it or should I get rid of it ..... well I decided to use my embossing powders again.

I created my own background using a Clarity corner together with kaleidascope powder, so when you turn the card, the pattern is all different colours in the light. The edges of the papers have been distressed with weathered wood.
I've used sizzix flourishes and a little poem I found on t'internet. (told you I was getting ready early!)

Challenges:-
Dieing for a challenge - anything goes and use a die cut.
OSCC - create your own background.

I've really enjoyed having a play around. Hope you to see you all soon.

An Early bird

Whooaa, Hiya, I'm finally back - my fingers have been so itchy to craft but with so much going on at home an work, I feel like i've been going backwards!
We have been audited at work so busy making sure everything in order, hubby starting new job, I started helping at Rainbows, Exams and revision helped out for my boys, a holiday booked, so now hopefully I can slow down and have a little me time! lol

As Hubby started his new job today, I took the day off, and made this....

A simple card = Yes, I know I'm early, but thought I'd make one or two in readiness! This image always brings a smile to my face - she is just so sweet, can't you just imagine your own little one coming up to you with a flower (or even a weed in some cases - as my daughter keeps picking dandylions for me!).

Challenges:-
Sketch Saturday - Sketch.
Allsorts Challenge - Anything goes.

Good to see you again,
Hugs

Hoppy Birthday

Hi there,
Another weekend that has flown by, I really could do with an extra day just to get all the washing and ironing done! Mind you I have two teenage boys that seem to be growing out of their clothes more than they need washing lol - shoes lasting 3 months before needing new ones, jeans I am sure I only both them the other month and already they are too short! Hey ho!
I did emerse myself into the craft room just to have a bit of me time today. I came up with this ....
I followed the sketch of Sketch Saturday. I haven't used this image before - I had a design in my mind, but it ended up quite different, but I am quite pleased with it. If you look closely you will see I've run around the edges of the papers with a pricking wheel to give the look of stitching.
Challenges :-
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes.
Simon Says - Anything goes.
One Stop Craft Challenge - stitching real or faux.
I've used my promarkers, the backing paper is a pad a friend gave me cause she was giving up crafting! what ... yes you heard right! I know so many people giving it up, due to cost, time etc. I think that if I enjoy it, why not it is just a little hobby ! Oh gosh looking at the time, i've gotta go and make tea - take care and thanks for passing my way, hugs,
