Something Different.

Hi there,

I made this card at weekend for a friend and followed the Sugar Bowl challenge a sketch of your choice. A pirate was required, I remembered this old Sugar Nellie stamp I had -(this was one of the first ones I bought). I have added some extra chest and facial hair!

This was really fun to do, a side step from the normal ones I like to do. The sentiment is individual letters made into a sentiment, the swords and skull and crossbones are sizzlits from an age ago. Coloured with Promarkers, and cosmic shimmer spritz on the circle scalloped background. The brown background paper is actually embossed in a wood design.
Thats if for tonight.

Just Magnolia

Good Evening,

Did you all go the NEC and have you all spent up? Is there another one this year or is it just a yearly ritual? No doubt we'll see some wonderful goodies on show soon.

Just thought I'd show my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge - sketch.

I love this little Tilda - such a sweetie that can be used for any kind of card.
I've used Promarkers to colour, Papermania capsul collection for the bp and sentiment. Flowers from my stash, ms frond punch, stickes in rose pink.

I thought I'd also show my daughter's picture of "the twins" as she calls them. She is only 3 years old and already is quite a crafter - she has asked me why the people don't have mouths? and promptly put smiles on them. Does anyone know the history of Magnolias? I would love to hear about it.
Thanks for popping over.

Chilax.

Its me again.

My weekend is always sporadical crafting (in between the kids calling and needing things!). We have 6 dogs with 3 puppies each that need so much attention at the moment - no not for real, on Dogs 5, a pc programme - my 3 year old daughter is hooked on trying to look after these dogs and puppies - they need this mummy, they have to do this mummy - gosh, no sooner do I turn my back to do something else then she shouts "Mummy, can you help me do this".. bless how can I refuse ....
Anyway back to my crafting, I managed to get this done,

Challenges:-

Creative Inspiration - Sketch

Cute Card Thursday - Dimension / Layers.
Items used :-
Penny Black Stamp, Promarkers, Stickles,
Glossy Accents, Nestie, Ribbon coloured by Promarkers

My first Bookmark!

Hi,

Over at a Spoonful of Sugar, their challenge this week was to make a bookmark. I always have the idea from childhod that bookmarks are usually laminated pieces of paper or a strip of leather so when I saw all the lovely creations out there, I dared to give it a go! Not perfect by any means but an attempt none the less.

I must admit it looks slightly better IRL - tilda is looking through acetate to mimic a window. Her top looks a stronger colour that it really is and the ribbon looks duller than the gold it is! Never mind, just thought I share it with you.

Items used were all scraps from my drawer (on a use up binge at the mo lol).

Thanks for taking time to have a look.

Magnolia Downunder

Hi there,

Is it just me or is there a lack of bloggers today, is everyone at the NEC? I take it this is the big event that most crafters go to?! I'm gonna have to make a date to go to this next year .... no doubt there will be so many new goodies to make me feel so green lol.

Anyway I'll post my card so that i'll fill up the blogging gap ..
I've followed the sketch for Magnolia Downunder - just about managed to get it done in time! whew!! The image was sent to me by Jacque a most fabulously talented and inspirational woman. Thank you so much again for this Jacque.

Items used:-
Nellie Snellie die cut, Papermania bp,
Magnolia Tilda and Ladybird, MS doily heart punch,
freebie sentiment, Promarkers,
fine liner pen for the stitching.
(the ladies will now be laidened with goodies, laughing and joking - aching feet, empty purses)
Green isn't in it!)

Easter Glitz.

Hi again,
I'm just like a bus, you wait for one and then more than one comes along at the same time lol! Had to get this one in before I get side tracked again. It's quite a plain and simple style card. I got a Rose Papermainia paper pack from the capsul range. I just love the papers in them. If you've not seen one before, you get extras in like sentiments and icons. I've gone for the more subtle look on this card.
and opened just so you can see it is an acetate front.
I backed the inside acetate with the same cutouts as the front, the glitter hasn't shown up as much as IRL! the cosmic shimmer powders on the hinge really does shine, but it just looks pink here :(
I just wish I had some Glimmer Mist to try, I've seen you guys use it on so many blogs, but are a little unsure which would be a good general all rounder for spritzing up any coloured flowers.
Challenges:-
Magnolia-licious Highlights - an acetate card that is Spring themed.
Passion for Promarkers - Springtime with an animal on it.
Simon Says Challenge - Easter with Glimmer mists / Glitter/sparkly
Colour Create Challenge - Pastels with opt. extra of Easter / Spring.
I think this is a record for me .....
That's all folks...hope to see you next time,
Sarah x

Lili of the Valley Challenge.

Hiya,
Gosh my eyes must have been a little squiffy, I copied down the sketch for the Lili of the Valley Challenge - made my card and when I checked it again, it had changed slightly! (or could it be tired eyes lol) Anyway I think that you can see the interpretation I have done - hopefully it will be accepted! If not it's another card for my collection just have to blame Ronan Keating! (went to his gig the other day - wow was he is a fab singer , and what a torso .................. aahhhmmmm)! Yes, he made my week go off schedule! .... Oh yes my card ..
Items used:-

LOTV Stamp, Ribbon Papermill shop Freeport, Papermania bp, Woodware butterfly stamp, Promarkers, chalks for edge of image, freebie sentiment, stickles, Nestie.

Hope you're all keeping well.

Hugs, Sarah x

Passion For Promarkers

Hi again,
Another one for Passion for Promarkers - a sketch created by Debbi and any choice of promarkers. I had taken Debbi's advice on which promarkers to buy after buying my initial set to try and now am needing more! just another shade or two in each group!

Anyway here is my take on the sketch

I just love these Lili of the Valley images, I'm trying to save my pennies at the moment -I suppose that gives me a chance to use up items from my stock!

The bp were a freebie from a mag. and the flowers were a home made cluster flower (the ones where you layer up loads of layers and them plump up ... on the photo you can't see the fullness of them!) The sentiment was a foiled one I found in my drawer coloured in with promarkers.

Oh and for all you copic lovers, if you pop over to Cardcraft-UK they are only £1.99 on their website with free P&P! (look under new products).

Thanks for popping by,

Sarah x

Sending a letter

I've coloured using my Promarkers, and used bp from Papermania. Ribbon and flowers from stash and the tag was made using a MS boarder punch.

I've tried to use some older scraps of paper and fumbled upon some flowersoft that I've had for ages but not used. Yes I had to try and incorporate it somewhere, somehow!
Items used,
MS punch, Nellie Snellie circle, cuttlebug embossing folder, flower ribbon stickles and greeting from stash.

Delicious.

Hi Peeps,
Delicious, that is what the colours mint, chocolate and cream are ... I takes me back to my childhood of having mint choc chip icecream in the sun! the colour arrangement is for:-
The Colour Create Challenge - mint, chocolate and cream (white)
and Friday Sketchers - sketch by Jacque.
I've used a Sugar Nellie stamp holding a mint choc chip icecream.
I've tried to get a creamy look to the flowers ...... ! ......... well they
kinda fluffy! I used some flowersoft on them after colour tinting the edges.
Items used:-
Promarkers / cosmic shimmer spritz for the green bp, the other BP is unknown/
polar white flowersoft / flowers, stickles from stash / Martha Stewart frond
punch and boarder punch.
Why is it whenever I want to craft someone always takes me away from it. I got all the kids sorted and it was actually hubby asking me to help him put an engine in his bike ... what and get dirty hands .... well I managed to get away with just using a hammer! he he (don't think he's gonna ask for my help again!)
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend - i'm looking forward to breakfast in bed tomorrow - I was actually band from my craft room yesterday so my eldest could make me a card - he did actually leave it quite tidy.

Sun Sun Sun

Hi there,
What a beautiful week it's been so far, so sunny here in the NW of the UK, doesn't it just give you that little lift in life?
Gosh I've managed to incorporate 4 challenges ..... that is a new record for me. They are:-
Lili of the Valley - An easel card.
Stamp with fun - Spring.
Magnolia Downunder - 3 papers, 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 bow.

I found this bumble backing paper lurking in my scraps drawer and drew from that the colour tones for my card. The recycled element is the ribbon (from a shirt - you know the ones we all tend to cut out now) and the paper behind Tilda which was some old wrapping paper.
I've use promarkers to colour and lots of stickles on the flowers and Tildas wings - I'm gonna have to invest in some of that glimmer mist! that is besides ....... well I won't bore you the list just keeps on getting bigger! lol
That's it for today (or rather tonight)
Take care,
Sarah x

Just Magnolia Challenge

Hi guys,

Have you ever had one of those days? Well I think mine was today..... I made a cheese sandwich for one of my sons and grated my finger! We then went out for the day and got hopelessly lost looking for a certain shop, thus ending in a husband/wife argument about driving (yes you know the ones) and then coming home without having done anything and on such a beautiful day). Then when at home I was making tea and ended up peeling my thumb instead of the potatoe! ooouuuuch. I was trembling when it came to chopping the vegetables!! lol

Luckily I had made this card yesterday so I can give my fingers a little rest today :( un-fortunately it's a little dim due to the picture being taken at night!
This card is for the Just Magnolia Challenge - a tent card.

Items used:-
Promarkers, Marianne Design flower die,
Tilda image sent to me my blogging buddy Liz,
BP - K& Company, large oval scalloped nestie, pearls and flower from stash, stickles.
Whimsy sentiment stamp.
Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Saturday,

I'm trying not to buy any more crafting items without fully using the ones I already have. So here is my card just for one challenge Cute Card Thursday.

Digital update.

It's me again.

Yes TV's have done it so I had to, yes I've tried a digital download .... gasp .... once over the inital way of getting it (so fast), sizing it and then being able to use it ... wow... it's really quite easy. Now i'm not afraid any more I can have a lot more choice than before .... the only thing is that with having the ability to downloan and having pay pal it's just too easy to use!!!! - yes you know what I mean .. lol Here is my take on "video boy" from Mo's Digital Pencil Store for the Challenge I had actually just coloured the image in and then found it fit with the challenge ... yipee ...

I coloured it with my Promarkers, but kept it quite plain and simple. Fellas cards never seem to have too much on them do they! I've sent this card off to my cousin's son who's just turning 13, a teenager at last. The image will just fit him perfectly!

Hope you have a great day.

Bits and Bobs

Hi there,

How's the weather with you all, still snowing, cold? Well with spring being here, I've been day dreaming of going abroad. I've not been abroad for at least 8 years and am yearning for a little sun and pamper time (pamper time for me is not doing the washing up, cooking, ironing, cleaning and laundry!) a girl can dream eh?

Anyway onto my card, a little bit of this and that which merged together made this .....

Challenges:-

Papertake Weekly - Buttons, bows, brads and bling.

A Spoonful of Sugar - Beads.

Items used:-

My latest Tilda purchase, Papercella bp, Nellie Snellie die, Distressed inks, brads, beads, bows, pearls, baby buttons, primar flowers, stickles and old lace.

Aaahh the weekend is here, a little more time to craft and see all your lovely blogs,

Take care,

Nature

Hi there, I'm back at long last, what a busy week at work I've had and the days have been so long! (doesn't help when my little one isn't sleeping through for some reason)
Anyway onto my card, it's not my normal style but i'm up to trying anything. I've followed the sketch for OSAAT (One stitch At A Time) which was provided by Susan.
I have a few stamps which don't get used so I thought I'd drag one out. The butterfly was bought in a kit with stamping glue and glitter from the GMEX a few years back.
It's funny when you go to some shows that you see lots of things you want to try and then either don't do it or think "is that it" - the glue stamp was one of my - I want it, I need it, I don't use it!!!!! lol
I've coloured the Butterfly and flowers with Promarkers which coinsides with the Passion for Promarkers challenge - back to nature. Hopefully I'll get a little more crafting time this weekend.
Thanks for looking.
